Children’s Dental Treatment

Good dental habits start from an early age. Modelling good oral healthcare is one of the most important things you can teach your children, to ensure they develop good oral health habits. This obviously includes brushing twice a day for at least two minutes.  The other part of this habit development is making sure they have a regular examination and clean at the dentist. Ideally, we should see your children from the age of three years. The first visit is often just a ride in the chair and a very limited exam to get your child used to the idea of going to the Dentist as something that can be fun!

Whilst dental care is important, for some families, worrying about the cost is enough to put them off taking their kids to the dentist. The thing about dental care is that prevention is always the best and least expensive treatment, without doubt, identifying and rectifying small problems in the early stages is exponentially less costly than leaving these problems to develop into painful and expensive situations.

The good news is that at Dental on Cambridge we’re committed to ensuring every child can access dental care.  Did you know we offer gap free examination and cleans for children up to 18 years if you're in a health fund with extras cover? That means there will be no additional charges for your child's examination and clean. If you don't have a health fund, we'll cap the price at $99 per child from 2-12 years and at $130 for 13-18 years.

We're committed to preventative dentistry, so we also offer discounted treatment for children, we offer a 50% discount off adult pricing on preventative, restorative, and emergency treatment.

We also support the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) - if you receive family tax benefit A, you may be eligible for this program. Usually, if a child is eligible for CDBS a notification of eligibility will have been sent to the child or the child’s parent or guardian. This letter may be presented by the patient to the practice at the time of their appointment or if you don't have this letter but think you might be eligible, we can check your child's eligibility with the Department of Human Services on your behalf.

The benefit for CDBS includes up to $1,000 over 2 calendar years for basic dental services including check-ups, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions.

Our top priorities are patient care and comfort. So why not give our friendly team a call to look after your family!
